5 Questions to ask yourself to gain clarity on your purpose

purpose Sep 10, 2020

We can ask ourselves key questions to gain clarity about our purpose.

1. When do I feel most alive?
2. What do I really enjoy sharing with others?
3. What gives me true satisfaction, is fulfilling and matters to me?
4. What issues am I passionate about?
5. What do I talk about mostly with friends?

When we gain clarity about what matters to us most, we can work with our strengths and be of service to fulfill our purpose.
This will be driven by our values and love. Once we begin to pursue our passion, it’s good to talk to people in the same life pursuit as you.
If you love art, speak to the local art gallery, or other artists who are pursuing their dreams.
Find out what works and what doesn’t work, from them and also through your own trial and error.

Honouring and Serving,

Physical benefits of having a higher purpose

purpose Sep 09, 2020

Research has shown that having a higher purpose and desire to be in service to others has an impact on gene expression, specifically in decreasing pro-inflammatory compounds.
On the other hand, seeking out things in your life that create fleeting happiness, like depending on activities that avoid your pain and pursue pleasure, have been shown to be unfulfilling and can trigger genetic expression of those pro-inflammatory compounds.
These compounds and stress biomarkers are linked to cancers and chronic diseases, like autoimmune and gastrointestinal disorders, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, metabolic syndrome and hormone imbalances.

Spiritual practices such as meditation, prayer, worship, tai chi, yoga, and connecting to activities that make you feel “alive” and peaceful, have been shown to strengthen an area in your brain called the anterior cingulate.
This is the centre of empathy, compassion, intuition, emotional and social awareness.

What is your purpose?

purpose Sep 08, 2020

Have there been times in your life when you have felt you never knew your purpose?
Have you ever lost a job, relationship, a sense of direction, a home, or felt so disconnected with others, you wonder what is the reason to be here?

Losing our sense of self and who we are is more common than people realise.
Our lives have been governed and guided a lot by expectations, social pressures, bills and others wants and needs.
How often do we listen to the calling of our innate spirit, which deep within knows our purpose. It is here when we look within, we find what truly matters to us and where our purpose lies.
Exploring our own values and higher purpose generates more happiness, compassion, self-discovery, wisdom and greater meaning in life.
Purpose almost always involves us wanting to feel we are contributing, that we are sharing what is meaningful to us, or something that we value.
When we have clarity of our purpose we are able to form meaningful...

Navigating through uncertain times

connection meaning purpose Jan 19, 2020

There are times when you are sure about what you are doing and times where you have no idea what you are doing or why you are doing things.

It's the times when things seem unclear, when we can feel lost or stressed. During that time consider pondering on what is really holding you back. Focus on your strengths and what really matters to you. This will bring clarity, positive emotions and confidence back.

To help, These 3 questions can help you to navigate through stormy or uncertain times.

1) What has helped you in the past to navigate through uncertain times?
2) What tools or strategies have helped you to gain clarity in the past?
3) What is the service or value you want to contribute to others?

When I feel unclear on what direction to go, I reflect on the above three and add the question, how does this tie to my vision and needs of my spirit? One of my needs is connecting to the universal creative intelligent life force within, through meditation. When I think of how this ties to my...
